Call to Arts Council Members Artist

Franklin County Arts Council is partnering with Maria Parham Medical Facility Louisburg location to display art by member artists in their emergency room. employee break room, hall, and a detached clinic. A few of the pieces need to be large. Art will be rotated once a quarter and must have wire hangers. Art should not be controversial and Maria Parham reserves the right to refuse Art it considers controversial. The artist name, contact information, name of art piece and price will be displayed with the art. The Gallery can process sales for artists (normal commissions will apply). I will provide more information about the number and size of art by September 16th. Maria Parham is installing a hanging system. We would like to have art available for display and sale by October 1.

Wall Mural - In addition to displaying Art on a rotating basis, Franklin County Arts Council is commissioning a mural for Maria Parham's employee break room on one of the walls. The theme is "Pride of Louisburg". They would like to incorporate other aspects of North Carolina (cardinal/dogwood/etc.), from mountains to sea with mountains on the left, sea on the right, with Louisburg landmarks/history in the middle. Submit a sketch of your proposed mural to Franklin County Arts Council by September 16th. Submissions will be provided to Maria Parham for a decision by the end of September (possibly earlier).

In celebration of September being ARTS in Education month, the Renaissance Center is hosting a WFGA show that will focus on artists that have taught!

Celebration of Arts in Education

Wake Forest Renaissance Centre

September 1, 2022 – October 31, 2022

Deadline for Signup: August 24, 2022

Please follow these steps:

  1. Review the qualifications below.

  2. Complete the signup genius at this link

  3. Send 1 or 2 images of your work to or respond to this email.

  1. This show will only display the art of current or prior teachers.

    1. A teacher can be a classroom art teacher, one-on-one teacher, or group teacher. This includes both current and past art teachers.

    2. This show is open to teachers that teach or have taught in fields other than art if it was in a classroom setting.

  1. It is desirable that the artist be willing to do a 15–30-minute demo of their art or discuss their art, if not an art form that can be demoed. This will occur at the planned reception. Artists will be expected to attend the reception, sponsored by the Renaissance Centre, if possible. It is tentatively planned for September 15thfrom 6 – 9 PM during Ladies Night on White. This date must be approved so flexibility is needed if the date changes.

  2. This is a juried show and only “fine art” is allowed.

  3. All art must be original and if based on a photo, the photographer must be given credit.

  4. Art will be displayed in the center’s hallways and in both studios A and B.

  5. There will be one shelving unit for 3D art. The shelving unit currently displaying business cards will be repurposed for 3D art. While we encourage artists of 3D art to apply, please know that the number of pieces you can display will be limited. The Renaissance Centre did not feel that have art openly on tables was safe for the art. (The display cabinet with glass doors will be used by the artist that has signed up for the month and will not be available.)

  6. Artists can schedule appointments to show their art to friends, family, students, etc. by contacting the Renaissance Centre. This is in addition to the planned show.

  7. Hanging art must either be framed or the sides completed. All art for hanging must have a wire hanger (no sawtooth hangers).

  8. Hanging art must be 11 x 14 or larger. Art does not hang well if below 11 x 14.

  9. Drop off and pick up dates will be coordinated once the jury process is complete.

Let me know if any questions and let’s have a great gallery show.

Good evening!

I am in a group called Community Navigators Community Builders. We're planning an event for September 10th where we raise awareness for Women's healthcare and maternal health. We wanted to see if there are any artists who would like to create anything to display for the event that deals with healthcare disparities for women. If you know any artist who would be willing to participate please let me know.

Thank you,

Niyah Powe

We are very appreciative of the display space at the Wake Med North gallery wall and are looking forward to continuing to show high quality original works.

The hospital administration and staff continue to support our displays even throughout the pandemic.

Please review the general info for exhibiting at this venue.

All efforts are made to accommodate artists' choices, however, preference will be given to artists who have not shown at Wake Med North. All artists must be registered with the WFGA. Installation and take down days are coordinated between the two artists and Delphine is there to assist in curating the new works. Exhibits are approximate one month in duration. If you have not seen the display space at the hospital, please take a moment to go through our facebook and instagram posts to see past artists' shows.
