Please help support the Wake Forest Guild of Artists and ARTS Wake Forest in our community endeavors as we raffle off this lovely original oil painting donated by guild artist Sherry Lee Duncan!
The painting is an 18 x 24 inch oil painting on canvas.
The canvas has finished, deep sides, and is wired for immediate hanging.
The painting captures the side porch and beautiful setting of The Sutherland in Wake Forest and was done en plein air (painted onsite "in open air") by Sherry during an art market.
Proceeds from this raffle will be used by the Wake Forest Guild of Artists to support our community outreach endeavors such as our annual student scholarship, our art projects for kids at events, and our art activities for seniors. ARTS Wake Forest will use the funds to bring the joy of music to annual community events such as the Autumn Art and Plant Festival and the Salute to Servicewomen.
Tickets are $5 each or you may purchase a group of five tickets for $20.
Tickets can be purchased here online through April 30, 2026 and in person at the Wake Forest Guild of Artists Meet in the Street Art Village on May 2, 2026.
The drawing will be held at the end of the day on May 2nd.
You do not have to be present to win and arrangements will be made to deliver the art to you; however, you must reside in the triangle area. Art will not be delivered outside of the triangle and art will not be shipped.
Sherry Lee Duncan displays her artistry whether painting in the studio or en plein air. She is a versatile artist that works on large and small canvases, paper, and various surfaces. Her creative process is a journey that begins with drawing, watercolor, and walnut ink, followed by layers using spray paint, pastels, inks, and oils to complete each masterpiece. Sherry's artwork is a unique blend of representational art with influences from abstract expressionism and action painting. Sherry is an award winning artist that not only paints for herself and for her customers, but she is a dedicated teacher at numerous venues around the triangle.
Our deepest appreciation to Sherry Lee Duncan for donating this beautiful artwork, as well as to everyone that purchases a raffle ticket.
A special thank you to the Wake Forest Chamber of Commerce for the opportunity to manage the art village at this year's Meet in the Street on May 2nd.
