The WFGA takes applications to join a vibrant community of 2D and 3D artists whose work is considered "fine art." Fine art encompasses both 2D and 3D art with the standard categories of art and the subsidiary arts. These include, but are not limited to: painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, pottery, glass, printmaking, woodcutting, metalworking, and a subset of fabric art. If you have any questions on whether you are eligible to join the Wake Forest Guild of Artists, please send an email to wakeforestguild@gmail.com and we will be glad to review your artwork before you join and pay your fee.
Every new applicant that joins the guild is juried to ensure that the guild is an appropriate organization to benefit the artist, provide opportunities, and help them grow. In the jurying process, we look for artists that create original artwork. We do not accept any applicant that creates art from a kit. Do not hesitate to pursue joining the guild if you are relatively new to the arts. All art is a journey and we want to provide the opportunity for artists to grow in confidence, skills, and knowledge of the art world we all love.
If we determine that the guild is not an appropriate organization for your talent and skills, you will be contacted via email with an explanation. Your joining fee will be reimbursed promptly.
When you become a member of the Wake Forest Guild of Artists, you are joining a group of people whose primary mission is to promote the visual arts in our community. Students - If you are an artist in high school or college up to age 19, you qualify to become a member of the Wake Forest Guild of Artists at the teen level.
This is an opportunity to begin an association with the guild and start building relationships with an artist community. By coming to our meetings you will be able to dialogue with professional artists and learn from their experience. Come listen and participate in discussions about choosing raw materials, applying techniques, exhibiting work, and many other topics.
The WFGA is excited to reach out to young artists and help them continue to pursue their interests in arts. The annual fee for teens is $15.
