Artist Biography

Just before the pandemic, I enrolled in a watercolor class and bought all the materials to get started in watercolor. After 2 classes, the pandemic hit, the class was canceled and I was quarantined at home. I began painting daily and watching youtube watercolor tutorials to learn and get inspriration. I took as many art classes as I could in high school and college. I am delighted to reconnect with the joy of making art many years later. It has really been a great escape during the pandemic.

I have lived in Wake Forest for 28 years and I work teaching reading to Elementary students. I am married to Billy King and have 3 adult children--all of whom are figures in the paintings I submitted. I joined to Wake Forest Artists Guild to meet other artists and to continue to learn and grow.
